Carine Roitfeld's magazine cover inspires
Carine Roitfeld is proud of the "very new" images she's created while guest editing VMan.
The former editor of French Vogue has turned her hand to another publication, with her edition of men's magazine VMan hitting stores on February 14.
She features French actor Tahar Rahim on the cover, with photographer Nick Knight taking the image. Carine thinks people will be surprised when they see it.
"[It's] very new for a men's magazine," she stated.
Other people to be included in the pages of the publication include Glee star Chord Overstreet and Alexander Ludwig, who will appear in The Hunger Games later this year. Karl Lagerfeld and Jean-Baptiste Mondino went behind the camera to take pictures for the magazine.
Carine also decided to use everyday people, including mechanics and architects. In her view, men's fashion is all about the people who wear it. That meant she wanted to show it modelled on 'normal' people.
"I like men trendy, but not fashion victims. It's more effortless," she told WWD. "When you work with real people, you can't impose something it's men who give personality to the clothes they wear."
