Carrie Underwood: I rocked blue mascara
Carrie Underwood will never have a make-up free day.
The 31-year-old singer has soared to fame since winning American Idol in 2005, gaining six Grammy awards and selling millions of copies of her albums. Her stunning looks have also garnered attention and landed her a beauty contract with cosmetics brand Almay. She may have her make-up knowledge down now but Carrie didn't always make great choices.
"I have always loved [make-up]. I had teenage sisters when I was very little, so I have great memories of watching them and my mom put on a ton of make-up in the morning," she smiled to Bobbi Brown during an interview for Yahoo Beauty. "Occasionally I got into theirs without them knowing. [When I was younger,] I do remember having blue mascara and green mascara. And blue eye shadow of course. Things that didn’t exactly look too good!"
The blonde beauty is often snapped by paparazzi while out and about and always looks fabulous in front of the camera. That may be because she never steps out with a bare face.
"I don’t think I ever have make-up-free days, to be honest. I wear make-up for me. I don’t want to walk by a mirror and feel like I haven’t given some sort of effort. I just feel better when I have a little on," she added.
Carrie enjoys the world of beauty so much that she doesn't get an artist to tend to her face while on the road, instead relying on her own application skills for the stage.
"When I am on tour I enjoy doing my own hair and make-up. There are just so many people on the road, and it’s kind of therapeutic for me to be able to sit on my butt, and have all my things, and it’s quiet. It’s my time to play," she laughed.
