Carrie Underwood keeps track of trends

Carrie Underwood is inspired to carry on designing when seeing people in her creations.

Carrie Underwood is always keeping her eyes open for the latest trends now she’s an accomplished designer.

The blonde star is not only a successful singer but also has her own fashion line Calia by Carrie Underwood, which boasts swimwear, activewear and athleisure gear.

Discussing what she’s learnt since launching the brand two years ago, Carrie, 34, feels her creative side has increased and that she’s more influenced by her surroundings now she has an outlet to channel them into.

“I really am that person who comes in with pictures of details or the shirt my friend wore last Thursday, and I say, ‘What about if we implemented something like that into one of our tops?’” she told WWD. “That part is kind of fun to me. I’m always seeking feedback and keeping my eyes open in stores and looking to what’s trendy. And also trying everything out myself. There are always things that can be improved upon.”

She recently unveiled her latest collection under the label and names a white fitted jacket as one of her favourite pieces in the range. However, she does note the clean shade could be dangerous if there are kids about, citing her own son Isaiah, two, with husband Mike Fisher.

The Good Girl hitmaker loves seeing other people in her pieces too and thrives being able to share her own passion for fashion through Calia.

“Seeing how people all over the place live and what they do and what they need,” she replied when asked one thing that inspires her. “It’s cool to get to visit different places and soak it all in. I love floral and girly things and that’s definitely ingrained in Calia, to be strong and feminine and beautiful as well. I like to think you can see that in what we do.”
