Cate Blanchett: Water is a beauty saviour
Cate Blanchett makes sure she drinks "lots" of water to keep her skin healthy, despite it being "the most boring thing".
The actress is famed for her stunning alabaster complexion. Cate's glowing skin is down to hydrating it at all times - especially when she's travelling.
"You have to drink lots of water, even though it is the most boring thing," she told website Beauty High. "This is the trouble with traveling now, I'm going to blow up a plane if I have water over 100 millilitres, so I decant it into one of those spray bottles and I just will spray it every hour, and that's the thing with living in Australia, to fly here takes 24 hours.
"And also on the plane, when the lights go down over the flight I'll do a SK-II treatment mask and a whitening mask. And I can't tell you, between that and the SK-II Essence it works wonders."
Cate credits beauty brand SK-II as her skin saviour. The Academy Award-winning actress who is now a spokesperson for the line - started using the products after a make-up artist friend introduced them.
"Once I learned how to use it, I don't know if it was just because I was lazy, but I kept using it," she explained.
"After a month I noticed such a difference in my skin. At first I thought my face was glowing because of the pregnancy, but people kept saying it after I gave birth!"
The 42-year-old mother mother-of-three has looked after her skin from an early age. Cate's parents instilled the importance of skincare early on because of the harsh sun rays in her home country.
"Well, I think the sun is so strong in Australia, and if you're pale as a child then your parents are worried," she said.
"They're not thinking about you growing up to be an actress, they're actually thinking about serious sun damage so they keep you out of the sun.
"I just stayed out of the sun and my mum was big on moisturising, it was very simple, like baby oil and Oil of Olay."
