Celebrity hair trend tips

Leona Lewis' hair stylist says 1950's waves is the "cool but glam" trend to work this summer.

Ben Cooke has explained that the feminine texture of the do flatters every facial shape and looks nicely groomed at the same time. The hair pro spotted the style in international fashion campaigns and named it as the top look for the hot season.

"My favourite summer hair trend is the polished '50s look seen in the Prada campaigns. The soft waves frame the face perfectly and it looks cool but glam," he told British magazine Closer.

Ben also named his must-have hair products.

The stylist said that his work life would not be complete without his secret weapon, a special hairspray. And for those with a smaller budget than his celebrity clients, he chose his top bargain buy.

"The one product I couldn't live without is the Sebastian Professional range. Especially the Shaper Fierce Hairspray - it gives great hold without being sticky. It also adds a lovely shine to up dos," he said.

"My greatest haircare bargain is Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Finishing Touch Cream for lovely, beach-style summer waves. Work it through hair down to the ends for a tousled look."
