Charles Harbison: Beyoncé killed it... and me!
Charles Harbison "died" when Beyoncé Knowles wore an outfit from his label.
The self-styled queen of music and fashion wore a complete ensemble from Charles' spring 15 collection to Kanye West's Adidas presentation in February, rocking a faux-fur oversized clutch bag and round-lens sunglasses.
The outfit also featured a colourblock coat and a matching crepe zipper bustier and pencil skirt adorned with silk flowers for even more wow.
"I died. I didn’t know what to do with myself. I freaked out in multiple settings. I’m beyond grateful to Beyoncé for taking that chance on a little designer like myself on such an important platform," Charles gushed to New York Post.
"With Beyoncé, it wasn’t just a celebrity borrowing a bunch of clothes and me just hoping something gets worn. Her team actually ordered looks, and we did custom revisions."
Beyoncé's sister Solange was also spotted out in the coat during Vivienne Westwood's Paris Fashion Week show.
The designer's own presentation was part of the New York leg of shows, with block colours and sharp lines making up the bulk of the collection.
Talking about his customers, Charles explained how he wants those wearing his clothes to have a sense of freedom when it comes to fashion.
“I want Harbison women to be able to move confidently though the world without very much regard for other people's responses to their [appearance],” he explained, adding he hopes they think: “What I’m wearing at this moment is a reflection of myself, and that’s all that matters.”
