Charli XCX is hoping to design a plus size clothing collection in the future.

Charli XCX’s clothing tastes have changed as she’s matured.

The 23-year-old singer is known for pushing the boat out when it comes to her sense of style, favouring ensembles that showcase her toned figure.

However, Charli, real name Charlotte Aitchison, admits she has grown to be more “sophisticated” in the outfits she chooses to wear.

“I was quite young and my tastes have changed now that I’m older,” she told Britain's Look magazine. “I used to like to wear every colour all at once, and now I definitely have an appreciation for a more styled look. I’ve become more sophisticated but I do still love that outrageous, trashy, Pamela Anderson style.”

Charli cites Paris Hilton among her biggest style icons, admitting: “She’s still, like, the ultimate Barbie. I love her.”

Thanks to Charli’s unique sense of style, she frequently hits headlines with her outfit choices. But the young star insists she tries not to concern herself with what’s written about her, instead choosing to live in the moment and wear what she enjoys.

“I don’t really care,” she said of the negative comments she sometimes receives. “I’m only human so (negative) comments do affect me but most of my style icons from when I was younger, whether that’s Bjork or the Spice Girls - were always on the worst-dressed lists and now they’re back on trend, looking badass. The people whose opinions I care about always think I look cool and I’m not so worried about the rest.”

As well as her singing career, Charli has enjoyed success in other ventures, such as becoming a global ambassador for Make Up For Ever. She has also created two clothing lines for online retailer, and has big dreams for her future in the fashion industry.

Asked if she’d like to design a plus size line, Charli replied: “Definitely. I just saw Beth Ditto’s range and I thought it was incredible. I’m really inspired by a lot of plus size models, like Barbara Ferreira. Every type of body shape is sexy.”
