Cher helped with Lippmann polishes
Celebrity manicurist Deborah Lippmann was "sweating with fear" the first time she met Cher.
The celebrity manicurist has tended to the fingertips of stars such as Scarlett Johansson, Kim Kardashian and Julia Roberts throughout her career.
Fifteen years after she and her husband Jude Severin unveiled their own range, Deborah is releasing celebratory products including a lacquer music box featuring 15 new polishes. The box itself plays an original song the beauty expert wrote and it seems one musician in particular inspired Deborah many years ago.
“I went to [Cher's] room, and I was just pouring sweat with fear. I was just shaking. I mean, she’s Cher!” she laughed to fashionista.com about the first time they met.
"I sat on Cher’s bed for four hours with my edited bottles and brushes before I launched the brand."
A previous shade called Believe was a shimmery beige metallic and named in honour of the star's
1998 hit single. The iconic singer has also jokingly taken credit for the bottle design of Deborah's products, which have an angular finish.
While Deborah was given a confidence boost by Cher, 68, it is another quirky music star who provided her favourite red carpet memory.
"Lady Gaga for the 2011 Grammy’s. You know the year where she came down the red carpet in an egg!" Deborah previously recalled about her fondest moment at a star-studded bash. "I polished her nails with Yellow Brick Road, a sheer mellow yellow shade, which perfectly complemented her canary yellow outfit."
