Chris Evans praises Gucci
Chris Evans genuinely loves the Gucci fragrance he promotes.
The 32-year-old star has been the face of the brand’s Gucci Guilty pour homme fragrance since 2011. During a screening of his latest film Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which was sponsored by Gucci, Chris was dressed head to toe in the designer label’s threads, and was wearing the scent too.
“You know what? Even though you want to say it’s because of the brand, I actually love the scent. I wear the fragrance because it’s great,” he told WWD at the New York event. “I feel lucky to be a part of it, and I’m ready for someone to drag me out of it.”
Chris stars in the ads for Gucci Guilty with actress Evan Rachel Wood. The men’s version of the product was the best-selling fragrance launch in 2013, according to consumer market research company the NPD Group.
But Chris doesn’t take any of the credit for its success, praising creative director Frida Giannini instead.
“It’s Frida. Gucci has this existing cachet. They have Frank [Miller], Evan [Rachel Wood] and good commercials,” he added.
It’s no surprise that Chris enjoys working with the brand on the fragrances as he has revealed in the past how important it is to smell good. The actor makes sure that he sprays something on regardless of how dressed up or down he is.
“Even if I’m in my T-shirt and jeans, I’ll make sure I smell good,” Chris previously explained to People magazine.
He even has a technique in place to spraying cologne. His motto is ‘less is more’.
““I know some guys go direct skin contact, but not me. I give the little mist, then do the walk-through,” he smiled.
