Ciara's make-up highlights her bone structure

Ciara’s make-up artist has given some top tips on how to achieve her look.

The 29-year-old singer turned heads thanks to her flawless appearance at Lanvin’s Spring/Summer 15 Paris Fashion Week show in September. She wore a dark green belted trench to the event, complementing it with a sultry make-up look.

“Ciara has the most exquisite bone structure, so rather than flattening everything out by smoothing one tone of base over it, I used two shades of foundation to create highlight and shadow,” her cosmetics artist Alex Babsky explained to British magazine Hello!

A little translucent powder was used to set the look, after which Alex moved on to the eyes. A simple orange/brown eyeshadow gave some depth, especially when teamed with black eyeliner and two coats of mascara. Two brow pencils by Anastasia Beverly Hills were blended to fill in any patchy areas; then it was time to work on the mouth.

By keeping the eyes so pared down, Alex was able to go to town on Ciara’s pout.

“A dark mouth was the focus of this look, but I didn’t want Ciara to look too Gothic. Instead of a precise application with a lip liner and brush, I simply pressed Surratt Automatique Lip Crayon in Mahogany onto her lips with my fingertips, dabbing and blending for a softer, more sensual finish,” the make-up star explained.

Ciara is known to take her beauty regime seriously, but has surprised with one of her tips in the past – she uses tinted moisturiser even before she goes to bed.

“You know, it’s so crazy, but I do it out of habit. I use it because it has an SPF, and every time I moisturise my face I use an SPF. My dermatologist actually just told me it was better to use a tinted moisturiser all the time. It’s so funny - I can’t remember the specifics about why she recommended that, but it’s apparently supposed to be better for your skin,” she laughed to
