Clémence on ‘careful’ French fashion

Clémence Poésy loves the "freedom" of fashion in London.

The French-born actress splits her time between New York, Paris and London. She likes spending time in the UK city, claiming people have a more laidback attitude to fashion.

"I wear lots of hats because there is something very poetic about wearing a hat. In Paris people look at you a bit funny - as if wondering what you are trying to do, but no-one cares in London. There is a freedom," she told Stylist magazine. "French style is more about being careful that everything goes. I like the expression and the fun that the English have with style - it's inventive."

Clémence, who is one of Karl Lagerfeld's muses, went on to reveal her fashion inspirations. The Tunnel actress has always admired music stars from a past decade.

"I am a big fan of Marianne Faithful in the ‘70s - The Rolling Stones, Mick Jagger, David Bowie. I mean, they were f**king telling stories big time. It's about not being afraid to make a statement," she enthused.

Clémence is admired for her individual sense of style and has fronted campaigns for G-Star and Gap. The 30-year-old star loves visiting vintage boutiques and has revealed one of her favourite high street stores is Topshop.

"I always spend a few hours there as they have a good vintage section," she smiled.
