Clémence Poésy relies on make-up pros

Clémence Poésy is "terrible" at make-up, so rarely wears any unless she has a professional on hand to apply it.

The 32-year-old actress has been in the industry for over 15 years, so is used to having heavy cosmetics applied for the screen. She has no problem with that, although it's made her realise that make-up isn't her forte.

"I'm not a big fan of wearing too much make-up when I'm not working and a make-up artist isn't doing it beautifully, because I'm terrible at doing it myself," she told British magazine InStyle. "So I'd rather not wear anything. I think it's good to go back to your own [natural] face sometimes. I'm always amazed by women who wake up early to put make-up on before their boyfriend sees them."

That said, the Harry Potter star has picked up a few tips over the years. While many credit expensive brushes with helping them achieve a flawless base, they aren't for Clémence.

"Apply make-up with your fingers, as opposed to brushes. I love it when a make-up artist works with her fingers - it's always a good sign. It feels like they're really painting your face and working with it," she said.

The actress is famed for having a bobbed haircut, which always looks effortless. In reality it really is, because Clémence doesn't spend a great deal of time styling her hair. In fact, she's gone over a decade without cutting it in the past.

"I've had the same hairstyle for about 20 years. I cut it really short like Jean Seberg when I was 18 for a film and then didn't cut it again until I was 30," she explained. "Now, it's growing back. I mainly change the colour for acting roles. The best thing about being blonde is I can wear less make-up. When my hair's darker, I look a bit sad without it!"
