Coco Rocha: Doormen love my Macy's fame
Coco Rocha's doormen deliver her dry cleaning first now she's appeared in a Macy's campaign.
The Canadian model has previously featured in advertisements for Balenciaga, Chanel, Lanvin, Calvin Klein and Yves Saint Laurent, among others. However, it's her recent work with the American department store which has impressed many.
Coco now gets recognised when she goes out, and has noticed a few other perks too.
"It is hilarious how people say, like, 'You're so famous! You did Macy's!'" she laughed. "I'm honoured that my doormen love me now. Now I get dry-cleaning first."
Coco modelled the capsule collection created by Karl Lagerfeld for the brand. She was amazed when he asked her to take part, although initially had misgivings.
The star didn't understand why such a famous designer would want to create cheaper pieces, but after seeing them she changed her mind. She was impressed with the pieces, and even more so by the way in which the advertising campaign was shot.
Pictures were taken in Karl's iconic library in Paris, which Coco says was the perfect backdrop.
"He has so many books that even when we're doing our makeup, we're pretty much sitting on books. Because he just keeps getting more and more books. Insane," she told The Cut.
"[He likes to shoot at night] so we get there at six in the afternoon, prepared to be there until six in the morning. He has a chef on staff, amazing food; his waiter, who holds his Diet Coke I mean, it's the most amazing luxury; it's old-fashioned, people just don't do that anymore. He just makes everything super luxurious."
