Colin Farrell: Vitamins keep me healthy

Colin Farrell credits "green tea and s**tloads of vitamins" with keeping him healthy.

The 26-year-old actor has overhauled his lifestyle in a bid to stay in shape for his work and to be around as long as possible for his two sons. The Hollywood hunk has battled with drug and alcohol addiction in the past and explained that eating well and exercising is now an important part of his routine.

However, Colin revealed that he is trying not to be obsessive about his regime.

"I don't put the same level of energy into healthy living as I did into unhealthy living. I put an enormous amount of energy into the destruction of my body and if I put the same amount into treating my body in a positive way, that too would end up being a sickness," he told the September issue of British magazine Men's Health. "But I eat really well, drink loads of green tea, and take a s**tload of vitamins."

Colin went on to describe the workout he followed to bulk up and get fit.

He described how becoming a father allowed him to overcome his personal demons and be a better person.

"I did a two-mile jog every day, an hour of weights, every day, six days a week, for about three months before we started. And I'm somebody who a couple of years ago couldn't even run a mile," he said.

"What my first son James did was allow me to care for something in this world when I couldn't care for myself. James saved my life. I have two beautiful sons and when I'm not working I see them a lot. Life has mutated to take on this sweet simplicity that I am really f**king ok with."
