Cryer: My hair’s fake
Jon Cryer has revealed his dark hair is an "elaborate illusion".
The American actor is known for his short brown locks in hit TV comedy show Two and a Half Men.
Before this Jon sported a fluffy quiff to play Duckie in 1986 movie Pretty in Pink. Although both the looks seem convincing, Jon’s tresses are actually an "elaborate illusion" created by hair stylists.
"This is the work of several talented professionals making the most of like, four hairs. It's amazing, actually, what they can do. I'm not wearing a piece - or anything like that - but it's a long involved process that starts with stuff like shoe polish," he explained to talk show host Conan O'Brien.
"They basically just paint - they get a roller type thing - and just whoosh along the top. You have to decide if you're going to go full [John] Travolta and get the full front in. And then they literally sprinkle powder in from a salt shaker. So this is, like I said, four or five hairs."
The 48-year-old actor also revealed the measures he takes to appear in shape during filming.
Rather than exercise, Jon turns to figure-flattering undergarments to look trim.
"If I had known that full body Spanx existed, I never would have gone to the gym. It basically envelops you in neoprene plastic. They're incredibly tight, made of thick rubber," he laughed.
"Any fat that you do have on your body shoots out of where you don't have the rubber which is super attractive. Plus they're so tight you can't get them off without the help of another human being which is humiliating. They were so tight that you can start losing consciousness.
"People would race in after a take to cut me out. They were like the Nascar pit crew with the fire extinguishers."
