Cynthia Nixon felt magical as bride
Cynthia Nixon described how a "magical feel" was created on her wedding day with "silver and white ribbon".
The actress married her life partner Christine Marinoni in a civil ceremony earlier this year.
The Sex and the City star explained how she came to decide on her outfit and the finishing touches to her ensemble for the big day.
"I considered a veil, but Hervé Pierre, the creative director at Carolina Herrera, came up with something better: just a little bit of silver and white ribbon wrapped around my head twice, to which we affixed some small Fred Leighton diamond lovebirds," Cynthia explained to British ELLE magazine.
"It made me feel like Titania from A Midsummer Night's Dream, and you want to have that kind of magical feel on your wedding day."
The red-haired actress, who starred as Miranda in the hugely successful TV series, said while she wore a dress to get married in, her partner chose a suit.
Cynthia joked that in her opinion, getting married is all about the wedding dress, regardless of how spectacular the suits on the day are.
"My wife wore an amazing, exquisitely styled suit designed by [bespoke tailors] Doyle Mueser. Still, it's hard for a suit to compete," Cynthia joked. "The dress is the main event."
