D&G make-up advice

Dolce & Gabbana wanted their models to look like a "mix" of tomboys and glamorous girls in their Fall/Winter 11/12 runway show.

Pat McGrath, the make-up artist for the designers, has revealed how to get the prettiest winter face.

The fashion house managed to keep the look subtle and striking by enhancing the models natural beauty.

"Domenico and Stefano wanted the models to be a mix of tomboys and girlie girls," Pat explained.

She achieved this brief by applying a thick line of liquid eyeliner to the top lashes. This gave the girls a doe-eyed look.

She kept skin fresh and youthful, by applying moisturiser and a small sheen of highlighter, She finished the look with a light pink on the lips.

To get the look focus of framing the eyes. Use a white eyeliner to open out the inner corners of the eyes and line the lower lid. Use a thick, black liquid liner to go along the top lashes and sweep out at the ends with a feline flick. This technique may take a few attempts to get both eyes looking even. Finish off with a light coat of mascara.

Use a creamy foundation to get an even skin tone and complete the look with a slight stain on the lip.
