David Beckham has reportedly purchased two pairs of deluxe silk pyjamas for Victoria's Christmas present.

The stylish soccer star-and-model is rumoured to have ordered the luxury sleepwear from London's high end department store Harrods.

According to WWD, David made the call this week placing an order for two pairs of Olivia von Halle pyjamas.

Olivia is an English born designer who has taken inspiration from the lounging pyjamas of Coco Chanel and 1920's contemporaries in creating her sleepwear line. The unique height-based sizing system of Olivia's silky slouching sets means they not only fit beautifully but are tailored to be flattering on the figure too.

Olivia has previously worked as a trend forecaster, and her glamorous line of pyjamas have already received mass orders despite her label being set up just two years ago.

Prices for a pair of these timelessly chic sleepwear sets start at £260 and are sold in Harrods and Fenwick in the UK and Nancy Meyer and Faire Frou Frou in the US.

In a recent interview Olivia discussed the trend for wearing sleepwear as outerwear. She explained she is partial to stepping out in public in her pyjamas.

"Absolutely! But I must admit I have worn them with wellies and an old fur to walk the dog a lot more than I have worn them to dinner…" Olivia laughed to thisiscollective.com.

Olivia also hinted at how her brand will be expanding next year. The fast rising name in the fashion world confessed that there will be a "rock star" fronted menswear line coming from her label in 2013.

"For SS13 we are expanding the collection to include a more masculine pyjama with pockets and a beautiful silk nightshirt and shorts - the shirt is designed to also be worn with jeans or leather trousers and we are all really excited about it!" Olivia revealed. "For the brand we have two very exciting collaborations coming up - a menswear line with a rock star and a project with a very high-end hotel group. So lots going on…"
