David Beckham believes people’s appreciation of liquor grows with age.

(Cover) - EN Star Style - David Beckham has revealed his wife Victoria’s tequila obsession is “a very new thing”.

The retired soccer player has been married to the former Spice Girl and current fashion designer since 1999.

And David finds it fascinating Victoria has recently grown a penchant for a particular type of Mexican liquor.

“She loves it (tequila), which is a very new thing,” he told Conde Nast Traveller. “I think everyone's had their moment on tequila over the years, but when you get older you appreciate it a bit more.”

Although David retired from the soccer field in 2013, the star is still busy jetsetting around the world to look after his various other business enterprises.

He has learned to pack his suitcase like a master and David believes his packing ability trumps that of his fashionista wife Victoria’s.

“I'm one of the best packers you will probably ever meet,” he gushed.

“I'm obsessed with being ready and having everything in place. I'm very well prepared for any trip that's coming up.

“I have friends that take the mickey out of me for it, and my wife is a last-minute packer and nowhere near as organised as me.”

David and Victoria have a busy household as they are parents to four children.

Although David alone is worth $350 million, he previously revealed very little of his money goes to pampering himself.

"I don't think there are too many luxuries in my life," he mused to German magazine Jolie.

"When you have four kids, you're too busy. But what I do love is a massage after a long day. That's my little luxury."

David has landed numerous fashion campaigns in the past for lines like Armani and H&M.

And even though he is not high maintenance when it comes to beauty regimens, the stylish star believes it’s imperative for men to take their appearance somewhat seriously.

"Of course it's up to the individual how much he wants to do," he said of males' beauty regimens.

"Some men do far more than women, others prefer to go unstyled and natural. In my opinion however, every guy should take care of themselves and their appearance - at least a little bit."
