Demi Lovato: I don't deprive myself

Demi Lovato needs to be "secure in [her] body" before she returns to acting.

The Disney star is taking her time to recover from her personal struggles following her late 2010 stint in a rehabilitation facility for an eating disorder and self-harming. While she is starting to find her feet since she sought help for her problems, she admits she still has a long road ahead.

"I need to be secure in my body before I go back in front of the camera," she told Fabulous magazine.

"Anyone in recovery from an eating disorder would find that triggering and I'm not ready."

Demi has gained weight to a healthy UK size 10-12. However she is still getting used to her new frame.

"After so long being thin, it was terrifying being heavier," she confessed.

"But I am a naturally curvy Hispanic girl. I don't deprive myself - I had a Kit Kat last night, but I don't eat sh*t every day. I have a meal service that brings my food to my home so I don't have to think about being healthy."

The 19-year-old may be taking a break from acting but she has been back in the spotlight with the release of her third album Unbroken. Demi had almost quit the entertainment industry all together following her problems but is getting back into the swing of things one step at a time.

"I'm not saying I'm perfect, or fixed, but I am learning to love and accept myself. My outlook more positive and I am happy," she said.
