Diane Kruger: I don't keep clothes
Diane Kruger doesn't want to look like everyone else.
The actress has always had a great sense of style and regularly tops the best dressed list on a red carpet. The 37-year-old believes it's down to the fact that she is constantly refreshing her wardrobe.
"I'm not a big hoarder when it comes to clothes. I usually clean out my closet once every two to three months and I give it to charity or I give it to my girlfriends and my goddaughters, they [get] very excited," she told Racked.com.
Another reason Diane looks so great is because she doesn't have a stylist any more. While she did use one in the early stages of her career, she realized she wasn't standing out from the crowd.
"I know it's crazy to think it would be unusual for someone to dress themselves. But, so often in Hollywood, women have stylists and they all look the same," she explained. "I did that too when I first started out. But then I'd see pictures and didn't recognize myself. As my confidence grew as an actor and as a woman I started picking my own clothes. I don't want to look like everybody else."
That's certainly true of Diane, as she's never been afraid to take a fashion risk. For the German star, the best thing about clothes is the freedom to express yourself however you want to.
"The beauty of fashion and clothing is that you get to choose what you wear. You're never going to see me in a low-cut mini dress with flatform plastic heels," she laughed.
You'll also never see her dressing for a man. The blonde beauty, who has been dating former Dawson's Creek star Joshua Jackson for eight years, thinks it's boring to try and impress men.
"I think most women dress for other women, let's be honest," she said. "It depends. It's easy to please a man. The shorter the skirt and the sexier the dress, they will most likely approve of your outfit."
