Diane Kruger is the ambassador for Chanel's new skincare line.
The actress was announced as the new ambassador for the luxury label's skincare line yesterday.
In an official statement, the designer brand explained which of the German star's qualities made her perfect for the role.
“With her natural elegance and beauty, Diane Kruger is one of the freshest, most recognisable faces in film," the statement gushed.
The blonde and blue-eyed beauty has appeared in campaigns for Chanel before. Diane previously fronted their female fragrance Allure in 1996 and starred in the shoot for the Paris-Biarritz handbag in 2007.
"Attracted by her sophistication and artistic spirit, the House of Chanel chose her for its Allure fragrance advertising campaign, then again for the Paris-Biarritz handbag advertising campaign, shot by Karl Lagerfeld," the statement explained. "Now an ambassadress for Chanel, Diane Kruger will be the face of a new skincare advertising campaign, due to be unveiled in 2013.”
Diane's elegance and grace has won her beauty campaigns for the likes of Calvin Klein and L’Oreal Paris previously.
The former model's Chanel adverts will be unveiled later this year, with the details as yet unknown.
Diane's connection with Chanel has been strengthened over the years thanks to her close friendship with the label's frontman Karl.
The 36-year-old has known the fashion icon since she was a teenager and is regularly seen wearing his creations at glitzy events.
“I’ve known Karl since I was 16. I modelled for Chanel quite a bit when I was younger. When I started to act, Chanel lent me clothes for premieres and Karl designed a haute-couture gown for me for the premiere of Troy in Cannes . I still have the sketch he made for that outfit,” she said recently. “I look at him as a mentor and often ask for his advice. I respect his insight and intelligence - he’s a man of immense vision. I’m grateful for all the beautiful outfits he’s given me over the years.”
