Dita von Teese: I don't dress for men

Dita von Teese doesn't don risqué clothing to impress men.

The raven-haired beauty is one of the world's most celebrated burlesque stars and regularly wows with her elaborate stage performances and stunning attire.

Dita naturally has a penchant for sexy underwear, but insists she doesn't wear it with the opposite sex in mind.

"I love the ritual of dressing and undressing - the more intricately the better. I love the way a corset can create curves and exaggerate everything that is so feminine about a woman's shape," she explained in an interview with Burlesque Bible.

"I also love the effect it has on men, but I don't wear it for them. I just wear what I love, and they can consider themselves to be the lucky benefactors!"

Dita knows what suits her and what feels right on her body. The 39-year-old star never wears anything that doesn't make her feel confident.

"I have never liked dressing up in something for a man that doesn't make me feel sexy - white cotton panties or ruffly little girl socks and the like are out of the question for me," she said.

"I simply won't - because I believe that, as women, we should wear what makes us feel confident, and the important thing is to know what is right for you."
