Dita Von Teese talks new look
Dita Von Teese will wear a custom made Alexis Mabille costume when she premieres her new act next month.
The burlesque performer will showcase the ensemble in a new version of her renowned martini glass act when it begins in Los Angeles in February.
The style icon and close friend of Alexis attended the designer's Spring/Summer 2013 Haute Couture show at Mairie du 4e in Paris on Monday, where she sat on the front row.
"My opening costume is a tuxedo made by Alexis Mabille, custom made and custom fit," Dita revealed to WWD about the revamped act.
At the show Dita was seen warmly greeting the renowned fashion illustrator David Downton who is famed for his work with Vogue magazine. David is in Paris for the couture shows to sketch the creations for Vogue's website, and he lavished praise onto striking beauty Dita. The pair have worked together before, with Dita posing for David's series of portraits of some of the world's most beautiful women.
"We did a sitting in London recently, and we did lots of illustrations of me wearing Stephen Jones hats," she gushed.
"We had such fun," David smiled. "If you're not in love with Dita, check your pulse."
Dita wore a half-sleeved black dress, netted veil, and very high heels to the show, complete with her trademark ruby-red lips. As well as giving the world a sneak peek at her new costume for her upcoming act, Dita debuted a new accessory on her arm too.
The star was spotted hand in hand with a dark-haired man, who later was revealed as being Australian trader Padraic Bede O'Malley Murphy.
Recently, the 40-year-old dancer took her own dip into the world of fashion by launching a lingerie collection.
The 2013 Von Follies by Dita Von Teese line includes vintage-looking corsets, bustiers, balconette bras, fitted chemises, high-waisted briefs, and garter belts.
