Dita Von Teese has described her new lingerie line as an "homage to femininity".

The burlesque star is launching her vintage-inspired underwear line Von Follies, by Dita Von Teese in the UK today.

The glamorous collection has already proved a success in Australia with other global launches in the pipeline expected.

"I wanted to create pieces that enhance the feminine silhouette and make each woman who wears my range feel sexy and glamorous," Dita revealed to British newspaper the Daily Mail. "Each piece is homage to femininity and a reflection of my love of vintage glamour."

The collection is designed by the fashion icon and elements of her individual look can clearly be seen in the range. These include fishnet, immaculate lace finishes and key features that mimic decades from the past.

Staying true to Dita's signature style, the collection includes elaborate bustiers, ornate balcony bras, fitted chemises, high-waisted briefs and garter belts.

The performer's signature retro-inspired colours are also prominent, with opulent shades of red, black and nude all appearing.

The collection will be sold in British chain clothing store Debenhams and Dita thinks they will appeal to all kinds of women.

"I am thrilled to be able to launch this signature collection at Debenhams and make these exquisite, vintage-inspired designs available to women throughout the UK," Dita explained. "It's important to me that this collection is accessible to all women - I have designed these beautiful pieces to flatter women of all shapes and sizes."

Debenhams' Director or Lingerie Buying and Design Sharon Webb explained more about the collaboration.

"We're very excited to welcome Dita's range to Debenhams and further secure our position as the destination for fashionable lingerie," Sharon gushed.

"This beautiful collection is set to delight UK women with its flattering, vintage inspired designs."
