Dita Von Teese decided to sell her lingerie and fragrance on the Home Shopping Network in order to bring luxury into the lives of "every woman".
The burlesque star is known for her love of dressing up and looking glamorous.
Jewelled corsets and super high heels are wardrobe staples for Dita, and she hopes that by bringing her own designs to the TV and online destination Home Shopping Network (HSN), she can share her style with more of the world.
“I’m a bit of a fragrance and lingerie snob,” Dita explained to PEOPLE about her decision to market her lines to a wider audience. “Every woman should have luxury in her everyday life.”
Dita's underwear drawer contains expensive under garments, as well as those she has designed herself.
“The majority of lingerie that’s not my own that’s in my lingerie drawer is pretty expensive,” Dita admitted. “My goal is to make bras and panties that stand up to the ones I spend over $100 on.”
The star's intimate apparel range will debut on the HSN channel from March 17. The range includes lots of black lace and fancy detailing, but Dita's insists the items are accessible to everyone.
“My line isn’t the one to look for a white cotton bra,” she continued. "They’re a good place to start [with fancier lingerie]. Anyone who tries them will see that they’re very wearable.”
The businesswoman applied the same goal of wearable luxury to her fragrances, Dita Von Teese and Rouge. She finds the spraying of scent vital when preparing for her latest show Strip Strip Hooray!
“[I spritz] from the back of the knees down," she explained, since her feet are at about face height with the audience.
“And I can see strategic reasons for doing that in everyday life, if you know what I mean!”
