Duchess Kate 'will appear on Vogue cover'
Britain's Duchess of Cambridge will appear on the cover of US Vogue, says a palace source.
The magazine's editor Anna Wintour has been campaigning to get Catherine on the cover of the prestigious fashion publication.
She was soon disappointed though when a Kensington Palace Spokesman declared that the sophisticated newlywed would not be taking part.
However sources close to the royal family believe that the brunette beauty will still want to go ahead with the offer.
"I'm sure it will happen, despite what the palace it saying," a source at the palace confirmed to E! online.
Anna has recruited Mario Testino to take the cover shot. Testino has a strong relationship with the royals having taken stunning images of Diana, Princess of Wales, five months before her tragic death. He has remained a close family friend, taking photographs of both Britain's Prince William and Prince Harry as they grew up.
The photographer was also called in to take the official engagement shots of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge ahead of their April wedding.
The involvement of Testino is said to play a big part in Kate's involvement with the shoot.
"Kate is known to be a big fan of Testino," commented a second palace source. "I strongly believe she'll play ball for this."
The Duchess of Cambridge was approached by British Vogue to be on the cover before her wedding, but declined.
The 29-year-old is famed for her elegant and demure style. Her wedding dress was designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen and was admired all over the world.
