Eddie Redmayne: My looks made me

Eddie Redmayne thinks his lips helped him get cast as Angelina Jolie's son.

The British actor, who took home the best actor Oscar for The Theory of Everything this year, is known for his pale complexion and full mouth.

While some might worry about their more prominent features, Eddie has learnt to embrace his instead.

"I see a lot of freckles. I see a lot of lips..." he revealed to Women's Health when asked what he thinks when he looks in the mirror.

"I am definitely grateful for them. I think my lips helped me get cast as Angelina Jolie's son in one of my first films, and my freckles helped get me cast as Julianne Moore's son in a film, so I am not complaining. I have good days and bad days, you know?"

In The Theory of Everything, Eddie portrays Professor Stephen Hawking, beginning with his time at college in his early 20s. No one would guess the star is actually 33, but sadly he doesn't have much wisdom to share when it comes to his youthful looks.

"I've never had a 'regime', if that's what you're asking," he confessed. "I do use a bit of moisturiser, but that's about it.

"Although in Jupiter Ascending, my character is a sort of tycoon, and his product is a serum that makes people stay young. As far as I am aware, I haven't been using that."

He might usually keep his beauty routine simple, but the actor admitted he does prefer perfume to nothing.
