Elizabeth Banks goes bright
Elizabeth Banks' stylists have revealed the secrets behind her red carpet looks.
The American actress has been hard at work on the promotional tour for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, attending premieres all around the world.
Many of her outfits matched the red carpet, with varying shades of rouge proving to be her go-to colour of choice. This was no accident, with her stylists Wendi and Nicole Ferreira explaining the thought process behind the looks.
"Elizabeth loves colour, so that kind of started it. We always try to have a cohesive story for each film, and this one ended up being shades of red, orange and pink," Wendy explained to People magazine.
For the LA screening Elizabeth rocked a red Peter Pilotto number, while she chose a floor-length pillar-box red gown by Saint Laurent in Berlin.
One of Wendi's favourite choices was an abstract floral dress by Elie Saab Haute Couture.
"This dress is epic and breathtaking," Wendi gushed. "It's almost like a watercolour."
"We were worried the cape might take away from her small waist in photos. Elizabeth suggested the dark belt, and we were like, 'Genius!'" added Nicole.
Admitting they never get in touch with the stylists of the movie’s other stars, such as Jennifer Lawrence and Natalie Dormer, the stylist duo say a colour clash could well happen.
"We don't communicate with the other stylists beforehand. It's just luck of the draw that they don't end up in the same colour!" laughed Wendy.
One person they certainly don't take any notice of when it comes to wardrobe choices is Elizabeth's Hunger Games alter ego Effie Trinket, who is known for her outlandish style.
"No. Our goal is to stay away from Effie's shoulder pads and high-fashion style. We want Elizabeth to look like Elizabeth," Nicole stated.
