Ellie Goulding: I've ditched my insecurities

Ellie Goulding

Ellie Goulding used to angle her face in a way that hid her nose and chin when she posed for shoots.

The British songstress has been making waves in the music industry since her debut album Lights was released in 2010.

With her long blonde hair and slim physique Ellie has also become a style icon, but the 27-year-old’s beauty insecurities have often left her feeling low in the past.

“At one time, I was getting all this musical success, but I wasn’t getting all the things that went with it, like magazine covers,” Ellie revealed to ES Magazine.

“I was convinced for a long time I wasn’t aesthetically pleasing enough. I would have to angle my face to hide the side of my nose, or my chin.

“Then I stopped caring. I let go. Put a different energy out there — then [the covers] all started to happen.”

As well as her own body hang ups, Ellie has also been subjected to cruel jibes about her physique.

After an appearance on the UK X Factor last year, where she wore a sheer Julien Macdonald dress, Ellie was bombarded with nasty Twitter comments slamming her toned figure.

“They said my body was ‘too athletic’. Too athletic?” she fumed. “Isn’t it admirable that someone has worked so hard to look good and be healthy?”

Her exercise regime now focuses on circuit training, power jumps and squats, because they “design your body the way you want it”.

For the article, Ellie posed in a photo shoot alongside a classic car. With her light hair teased into a 1940s-inspired style, Ellie rocked a nude lip alongside ladylike glamour.
