Elsa Pataky: I'd love to be muscly!
Elsa Pataky likes the competition between herself and husband Chris Hemsworth while they exercise together.
No one would guess the 38-year-old star and her husband Chris Hemsworth welcomed twin boys Tristan and Sacha last March as she is back in incredible shape.
She shows off her slender build in a new shoot for British magazine Women's Health, in which she wears an array of swimwear such as a blue costume with a deep V-neck cut. Speaking to the publication Elsa - who is also a mother to daughter India Rose - shared her idea of the perfect look on a female.
“I was always the little one in school. I mean, I love fitness, I love sports, I’ve been into it since I was 15, working my body and just building it," the 5ft. 3in. actress explained. "I always admire sports bodies in women – that athletic look. Even when other people say, 'Oh she’s too muscly,' I always like it. I’ll never be in professional shape but I like to get as close to that as I can.”
Elsa puts her quick bounce back to her pre-baby figure down to "genetics", but hubby Chris also helps keep her in shape. Having to bulk up to portray Marvel superhero Thor on the silver screen means the actor is happy for his wife to join in the workouts, despite how competitive they get.
"He’ll hold the pads for me, although I won’t for him as he’d smash me into the wall. When he was training for Thor, he came home with this bodyfat measurer – you know, where you clip the parts where you accumulate fat?" she recalled.
"So it became a competition between us. If I had some fat somewhere I’d be like, 'Grr, I’m working that part.' It’s fun, it’s just like a challenge, for no other reason than I like to challenge myself."
The blonde beauty is so into exercise that she found it "difficult" to calm down with her workouts while pregnant with the twins so opted to work with a special Pilates instructor who caters to those who are expecting.
