Emily Ratajkowski prefers ‘80s-style swimwear
Actress and model Emily Ratajkowski loves to wear Brazilian-style swimwear because it makes her “legs look longer”.
Emily Ratajkowski feels most confident in high cut swimwear with a 1980s flair.
The model and actress, who has gained attention through her striking figure and controversial take on feminism, is the brand ambassador for Australian swimwear label Amore & Sorvete.
No stranger to wearing a bikini, Emily shares that partnering with the company was a natural fit, because she’s always seeking ensembles which are comfortable and effortless.
“I love Brazilian cut bottoms and the '80s higher cut sides – they make your legs look long,” she told Vogue Australia.
The 25-year-old also seeks out pieces which are well cut and made from quality fabrics, as this gives her confidence when hitting the waves. For instance, she finds that she suits Brazilian cuts because sometimes pieces with full coverage can be unflattering on her shape.
“What makes Amore + Sorvete so special is that the cuts are sexy, but they also hold on to your body in a really secure, comfortable way, so you’ll never get an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction on the beach,” smiled Emily.
Amore & Sorvete was launched by Bridgette Gale in 2009, with the designer building up a reputation for swimwear that features bold colour palettes, unique prints and detailed embellishments. Bridgette adds that Gone Girl star Emily, who has also recently appeared in advertisements for Express and jewellery brand Jacquie Aiche, embodies the Amore & Sorvete girl because she exudes poise and strength.
“Obviously she has an amazing figure,” Bridgette told WWD recently. “But I also liked that she’s a strong, independent woman because that’s the base of my brand.”
