Emma Roberts feels like summer is really here since attending the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic

The pretty 24-year-old turned up to the annual event, held in Jersey City, wearing a yellow maxi dress with a thin brown belt to cinch in her tiny waist.

She carried a leopard-print clutch to add some youthful energy and embraced the hairstyle of the summer, the milkmaid braid up-do.

"Summer is here! #VCpoloclassic @britelkin (sic)" she posted on Instagram alongside a snap of herself and a friend at the event.

However, Emma also revealed that she's not always quite as glam as on the red carpet. She revealed a shot of herself looking casual in a white sweater and denim shorts on Instagram.

"I call this look "I'm late for work and didn't have time to shower wait where are my keys oh they're in my hand bye!" @britelkin (sic)," she joked.

Emma was in good company at the polo, which is a favourite among the stars. Orange Is the New Black actress Dascha Polanco turned up in a mint-green overcoat and accessorised with a huge hat.

Freida Pinto also embraced green, wearing a checked halter-neck dress with chunky tan sandals and matching sunglasses.

Diane Kruger showed off her impeccable style in a black jumpsuit with cut-outs at the sides and stomach, finishing things off with a straw hat and sunglasses.

Maggie Gyllenhaal also turned up, looking chic and relaxed in a loose pale pink suit and a white crop top.
