Emmy Rossum: I styled backwards dress
Emmy Rossum has explained the back-to-front Donna Karan dress she donned to the designer's show earlier this week.
The actress sat front row at Karan's Fall/Winter 12 catwalk as part of New York Fashion Week on Monday, and wore a chic purple dress by the fashionista.
Emmy added her own twist to the ensemble however and has explained her reasoning.
"I decided to wear it backward," she explained in an interview with People.
"I put it on and the draping was in front. I thought the draping was a little much for 2pm, so now it's got draping in the back, and kind of a weird neck. It was my call."
Emmy says Karan's team embraced the change. The brunette beauty had fun taking the fashion risk.
"They said, 'Good, make it your own,'" she revealed. "There's a first time for everything."
Emmy was joined on the front row by DKNY spokesmodel Ashley Greene, Rose McGowan, Adriana Lima and Rachel Zoe.
Karan's show provided comfort from the cold with snug jackets for her DKNY line. The designer's Fall/Winter collection boasted an array of chic coats which were set off by waist-hugging belts.
Ashley gushed about the new range.
"I love that her collection always has a bit of strength, a little bit of vulnerability," Ashley said. "It's not often that you find a designer that just really embraces a woman, and I really love that."
