Eva Longoria: 'Victoria Beckham thought of everything for my wedding wardrobe'
Eva Longoria was convinced someone would see her visiting Victoria Beckham's London studio before her wedding earlier this year.
Victoria Beckham saved the day at Eva Longoria's wedding when the actress changed her mind about what to wear at the last minute.
The Desperate Housewives star tied the knot with husband Jose Baston in May (16), with her best friend, fashion designer Victoria, creating her wedding gown and reception outfit.
For the civil ceremony on the eve of the nuptials, Eva had planned to wear a pant suit, but she had a change of heart as she was getting ready, and instead chose a simple white dress Victoria had provided as well.
"I was like, 'I'm just going to wear this!' My assistant was like, 'It's Victoria Beckham', and I'm like, 'Oh my gosh!'" she recalled to People magazine. "She's just a genius. I think she is just amazing."
The 41-year-old beauty wore a stunning, figure hugging gown by the former Spice Girl for her big ceremony in Mexico, and while she was aware of the great pride Victoria takes in her designs, she was taken aback by just how much detail she went into to make her perfect wedding dress.
"Victoria took such care into making it. We had so much fun," she continued. "I went to her London studio twice - I thought for sure someone was going to see me. She pulled out literally every dress she's ever made and was like, 'Do you like this top? That bottom? This material? That colour? That strap? That zipper?' And we just went through everything and she had, pulled so many different white fabrics: 'What about this one? What about that one?'"
Not satisfied with designing the main gown and inadvertently supplying the outfit for the civil ceremony, Victoria, 42, also created Eva's evening reception gown.
"She wanted to make the after dress to change into and I was like, 'Oh, great! I love that dress,'" she laughed.
Eva is now following in Victoria's footsteps by creating her own fashion line for The Limited, and she wanted to be involved in every aspect of the design process, just like her friend.
"She's the ultimate example," the Latina gushed. "She's a true designer. She's lived and breathed fashion her entire life. She was born to do her line."
