Eva Longoria's stylist started pulling her Cannes Film Festival wardrobe together in March (16).

Eva Longoria's stylist wanted to embrace a "regal" and "angelic" look for the actress at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival.

The former Desperate Housewives star stunned on the red carpet at the opening night gala last week (ends13May16) in a two-tone nude and white gown by Pamella Roland, and Eva's stylist Charlene Roxborough has revealed how the look came together.

"This year we wanted to do something that was very sleek and fitted,” she told People Magazine. “It looks very regal. To me, it just looked very angelic, as if she’s just floating down the red carpet.”

The dress is from the designer's Fall 2016 collection, but Charlene had to make one major change to it before Eva hit the red carpet.

"Eva tried on the fitting (and) Eva says, ‘Oh my God, you can see my nipples!'" she explained, revealing the dress had a completely sheer front. "And those lights in Cannes... when they flash, they flash through your gown. When you’re walking down the runway that’s one thing, but for real life it makes more sense and is more sophisticated to have the piece lined underneath."

Charlene spends months planning Eva's wardrobe for the annual event, revealing she started contacting designers back in March (16), with the first fitting taking place in the second week of April.

"We have to get at least six or seven gowns organised for her," she continued. "We reach out to designers and a lot of times the dress could be at a sale event - like at Neiman’s (Neiman Marcus store) in Dallas, or wherever. I’ll send pictures to Eva and say, ‘These are the items that we have coming in’, and I see if we need extra fabric or extra beading, and work back and forth until it’s completed. And then do another fitting to make sure that it’s all put together.”

Eva complimented her gown with custom-made Lorraine Schwartz earrings and a ring worth more than $2 million.

"I reached out to Lorraine and sent her a photo of the dress just to give her an idea of the direction that we’re going in," Charlene added. "So she made these amazing ear cuffs for Eva. They just give a clean, modern, sophisticated, chic look."
