Eva Mendes is furious with people who are cruel about women's maternity style.

(Cover) - EN Star Style - Eva Mendes has slammed people who judge women's pregnancy style.

The 41-year-old actress and her partner Ryan Gosling are parents to 12-month-old daughter Esmeralda, giving Eva license to discuss maternity fashion.

Stars such as Kim Kardashian are constantly criticised for the way they dress their changing figures, something Eva is furious about.

"I don't think it's fair to comment on women," she told elle.com. "I think that's when we should be off-limits!?"

For this reason, Eva would never even consider handing out style advice to pregnant women. She went for comfort every time when she was expecting, and also managed to keep largely out of the public eye. Reports she and Ryan were having a baby didn't even hit until she was seven months along, with Eva insisting looking fashionable was the least of her concerns at the time.

"Oh god no! I was basically in like an oversized T-shirt, a very oversized T-shirt for a long time," she laughed. "I didn't do anything style-wise!?"

The star's down-to-earth approach extends to her daughter. Kim and her husband Kanye West's two-year-old little girl North is known for her lavish wardrobe, and she's often seen in things like leather trousers.

Esmeralda is more low-key, with Eva giggling that as she's a baby wearing diapers is as fashionable as she gets.

She may be playing down her interest in clothes, but Eva actually knows a thing or two about trends. The star has her own clothing line, with the Eva Mendes Collection sold at store New York & Company. The Fall 15 collection was launched last week (beg14Sep15), comprising of simple floral skirts and dresses and warm turtle neck sweaters.

The range was launched in 2013 and is affordable, something which has always been top of Eva's list of priorities.

“It's coming out of this place of like wanting to empower women and wanting to do it for a great price - and I mean like this dress, I bought this dress for $10 at a thrift shop, $10!" she said at the time. "I have a ton of stuff like this that I want to make sure that people have access to."
