Wore what? Coat, £50, Topshop; T shirt, £15 Abercrombie & Fitch; dress, £40 Topshop; boots, £50, Zara; bag, £5, charity shop.

Why? I like camel coats; they never go out of fashion. My dress is corduroy, which is cosy in autumn and winter, and  like earthy colours, and mixing and matching.

Who? The Olsen twins always look great, quite boho in their style choices. I don’t like tight dresses — the sort of thing you would see Kerry Katona in.

Monthly spend: £50

Nicolina Sutic 31

Nurse, Belfast

Wore what? Coat, £60, M&S. Leggings, £5, Croatian store; Boots, £15, Debenhams

Why? I like classic styles, and am quite minimalist. I prefer plain fabrics; I’m not into patterns very much.

Who? Angelina Jolie always looks nice, she is extremely elegant — unlike Kim Kardashian.

Monthly spend: £300

Courtney Magee (24)

Executive, Belfast

Where? New Look, Castle Court

Wore what? Top, £10, Topshop; Trousers, £20, Misguided; Bag, £40, Fiorelli.

Why? I don’t try to copy any celebrity’s style. I like bold colours and I wear what suits me, rather than follow trends slavishly.

Who? Kim Kardashian has some good looks, but she doesn’t get it right all the time, either.

Monthly spend: £400.

Marianne Smyth 24

Photographer/fashion blogger, Belfast

Wore what? Coat, £45, New Look; top, £25; boots, £85, Zara.

Why? I like a laid-back look. I just bought this coat in New Look; I like the strong rust colour and it looks good open or buttoned up.

Who? Kate Moss has effortless style. Katie Price doesn’t.

Monthly spend: £200

Cliona Finlay, 16

Student, Belfast

Wore what? Shirt, £15 Australian store; trousers, £20, New York store; shoes, £15, River Island; bag, Primark, £18.

Why? My mum buys my clothes; we like shopping together. My sister bought me this checked shirt in Australia.

Who? I’m a big fan of Rihanna’s style.

Monthly spend: £150

Tierna Finlay 19

Self-employed, Belfast

Wore what?: Coat, £45, Topshop; jeans, £32, River Island; shoes, £35, Miss Selfridge.

Why? I like Australian labels; I’m just back from there. I tend to wear well-cut, tailored clothes. Mum, my sister and I all shop in Miss Selfridge.

Who? Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgeons always look great.

Monthly spend: £150

Debbie Davidson (53)

Civil servant, Ballymena

Wore what? Trouser suit, £200, Hobbs; top £15 M&S; scarf, £30, bag, £200, Jaegar.

Why? I like to mix designer wear with store brands. I prefer classic styling with on-trend accessories and a good quality handbag.

Who? Nigella Lawson has good style.

Monthly spend: £100
