Florence Welch: I'm no fashion expert
Florence Welch is amazed she's a fashion muse when she makes so many style mistakes.
The British singer was the inspiration behind Gucci's Fall/Winter 11 collection. While she's thrilled designer Frida Giannini appreciates her look, Florence finds the attention difficult to fathom.
"Being a muse for designers is strange because my outfits seem to get weirder and weirder. I've made so many fashion mistakes so it's all the more flattering, but it's not about me - I think the designers connect to the music," she told the October edition of UK magazine Elle.
While Florence loves high fashion, vintage is where her heart truly lies. She loves finding one-of-a-kind pieces which capture her attention and can often be found trawling through thrift stores.
"I'll always pick old over new," she said. "I have a romantic sense of style, which marries well with the worn-but-loved look of vintage clothes. The obsession began when my friend and I were teenagers. We'd hang out at vintage stores and chat to the cool guys working there for played in indie bands."
