Gareth Pugh MAC line explained

Gareth Pugh's MAC nail lacquers are a "great way" to dress up a holiday outfit, says MAC Cosmetics Senior Artist Romero Jennings.

The British designer has created a make-up line for the cosmetics company which perfectly reflects his dark, dramatic collections.

The new range features nail polishes, powder blush, lipstick, cream shadows and lashes.

Romero has a few tips on how to bring the bold look together.

"If there's such a thing as 4D, these nail polishes are it! They're a great way to dress up your look for the holidays," Romero told Stylelist.com.

"These lashes are a bit extreme and you have to know where to apply. Seek the help of a professional artist who can suggest layering and cutting techniques, and be sure to curl lashes and layer with mascara for a doll-like look."

He is also particularly fond of the moody lip shades.

Romero explained it is vital to line the lips before applying the colour to prevent them from smudging.

"Lately, these have saved me when I'm pressed for time with red carpet events," he smiled. "First, I line the entire lip with a MAC Pro Longwear Lip Pencil which expands and fills in creases. Then I apply the berry satin lipstick on top to achieve a deep finish that isn't heavy."
