Gary Oldman: Modelling requires clenching
Gary Oldman says walking the catwalk is all about clenching "the buttocks".
The actor was asked to model Prada's Fall/Winter 12 men's line in Milan earlier this year. He thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would love to do it again.
"Easiest job I've ever done. You just clench the buttocks and walk with fixity of purpose. That's the secret," he told the latest edition of UK magazine Vogue.
Gary's manager Doug Urbanski was also pleased he got the invite. Doug was still smarting that Gary hadn't been nominated for the best actor Golden Globe for his role in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, which infuriated his manager.
"Doug gets more agitated about that than me," Gary admitted. "When the shortlist came out he rang me up and said, 'On the night of the Globes, I just want to be on the other side of the f**king world, somewhere, and not even have to deal with it.' Then, a few days later, he called and said, 'Our prayers have been answered. They want you to be a runway model in Milan for Prada.'
"And funnily enough, I normally debate these things, or go, 'Really?' or turn them down. But with this I paused for about ten seconds and went, 'Yeah, I'll do it!'"
