Giambattista Valli Macy's line targets jet-setters
Giambattista Valli's Macy's line has been inspired by travel.
The capsule collection will launch in the American department store later this month. The Italian designer has worked hard to come up with a number of chic pieces which women will be able to wear no matter where they are in the world.
"Drawing on his experience as a world traveller, the Paris-based designer's capsule collection for Macy's Impulse offers a wardrobe for the chic jet-setter," reports style.com.
The website also has a picture of one piece from the highly-anticipated line. The dress is berry red and boasts short chiffon sleeves and a scoop neck. It hits just above the high and has semi pleats. It is pulled together with a slim black belt with bow detailing.
The chiffon sleeves are actually a cape which lies over the entire top of the frock.
Other items include leopard-print trousers and a jacket from the same fabric.
Giambattista cited similar inspiration when discussing his recent Fashion Week show in Paris. However, the Macy's line will be considerable cheaper than his ready-to-wear collection, with prices ranging from $50 to $150.
Advertisements for the line have already been shot in Paris, where models strutted their stuff down a catwalk made of mirrors.
Giambattista Valli for Impulse Only at Macy will be available in 225 stores and online from October 26.
