Ginnifer Goodwin doesn't fixate on designers

Ginnifer Goodwin says designers are secondary when it comes to choosing clothes.

The actress primarily cares about whether or not she is drawn to a dress.

Ginnifer knows what styles suit her and so selects pieces she likes, rather than looking at the designer name on the label.

"I really don't go for a dress based on a designer," Ginnifer told People. "Whoever designed it is usually secondary to me, and how I feel about the dress itself [is first]."

Although she is often spotted in creations by Monique Lhuillier and Jenny Packham, Ginnifer insists this is not an intentional move. In fact the Once Upon a Time star claims she is always looking out for fresh fashion talent.

"I often wear new designers," Ginnifer explained. "There are some newer but esteemed designers like Jonathan Saunders - who I've been wearing a lot recently - and Erdem, which I really love."

Ginnifer looked stunning in a 1960s cute baby blue shift dress for a pre-Emmy Awards party on Friday.

The Jenny Packham gown she wore to the Entertainment Weekly Pre-Emmy Party in West Hollywood suited her perfectly.

The crystal studded powder-blue shift dress with black sleeves, bejewelled cuffs and matching sparkling collaring, suited her elf-like features down to a tee.

Ginnifer styled her dress with Jimmy Choo 'Taste' sandals, Dana Rebecca Designs earrings, a House of Lavande cocktail ring and a small quilted Marc Jacobs clutch. Flawless make-up and her signature pixie crop completed the look.

For the Emmy Awards on Sunday, Ginnifer went for an eye catching orange Monique Lhuillier gown.
