Gwen Stefani's tough training regime
Gwen Stefani takes six weeks to prepare her body for a big event.
The platinum-haired singer is renowned for her impressively honed body and stunning looks. The 41-year-old star works with personal trainer Mike Heatlie ahead of big industry events, and the fitness expert says she exercises hard to look her best.
"Whenever she has a tour, I fly to LA to work with her for six weeks before the event. I'm like her 'last-7lbs.-to-lose' guy. She'll get most of the way to where she needs to be herself - I just take her to the final level. And I always succeed!" he laughed in an interview with Closer magazine.
Gwen is mother to Kingston, five, and three-year-old Zuma, and has revealed in the past that it takes a lot of effort to achieve her toned frame.
Mike says Gwen follows a specific exercise and diet programme to achieve her enviably toned look.
"I train her exceptionally hard, with very little rest between exercises. We train five times a week for just over an hour," he explained.
"We do a mixture of things, but make sure we focus on diet. You have to limit the amount of calories, what I call 'calorie cycling'. You have four days of diet where you only have 1,200 calories, a couple of midway 1,500 calorie days, then a day off where you can have 1,800 calories."
