Hailee Steinfeld always keeps a personalised necklace her parents gave her safe during her journeys.

Hailee Steinfeld never travels without a hooded jacket to hide under.

The 19-year-old actress-and-singer is constantly globetrotting, promoting her work on the silver screen and new music, so has to have a flight-friendly wardrobe ready at all times. One thing she never forgets is a cover up that allows her to sneak in some shut eye during her journey.

“When I travel, I always bring a jacket with a hood," she told Us Weekly. "I love flying, and that’s kind of like my eye mask when it comes to sleeping on the plane. And earphones. Those are my No. 1 things to have.”

Hailee also has plenty of hair ties in her handbag when she's on the go, as she's constantly losing them and replacing them.

But some things in her tote are a little more personal for the star, such as a piece of jewellery given to her by her parents.

“I have a necklace they bought me for my birthday with my nickname, ‘Haiz,’ on it,” she smiled of the title, which is also the name of her debut EP. “If I’m not wearing it, it’s in my bag.”

Her bag of choice is a Marc Jacobs knapsack, in which she also fits the likes of a black leather Saint Laurent wallet, sunglasses and a make-up bag. Cosmetics found in there are basics, like foundation by Too Faced, make-up brushes and mascara; all of which are easy to apply on the go.

Not one to forget a moment of her travels, the True Grit beauty keeps an instant camera on hand too.

“I carry around my Instax Mini 90 camera," she shared. "I keep the photos in my wallet so they don’t bend. I have one of me and my whole family and my grandma, which is one of my favourites.”
