Halle Berry hopes to "inspire" people by raising awareness about world hunger.
The actress is currently pregnant with her second child and announced this week she was teaming with the designer to raise awareness about world hunger.
Boosting funds for the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) may seem like a large task, but Halle believes it's manageable.
“When you think of feeding the world, it seems to be so big, and people often think, ‘What is one person really going to do?’” she explained to WWD.
“It’s our job, and we hope that we can inspire people to realise that their one cup of coffee could feed a child for a month. We want them to know that that’s important, and we can do it.”
Halle is supporting the initiative by promoting two new versions of Michael's famous runway watches she has helped create.
The timepieces feature in the designer's Watch Hunger Stop campaign and will be available in his stores and online this month.
Every watch sold will help provide a meal for 100 hungry children.
Halle and Michael will also take a trip with WFP to see the organisation's work first hand.
The 46-year-old actress hopes her baby bump will inspire the women she meets and that she will be able to explain how important a good diet is during pregnancy.
“We are going to actually take a site visit, and I am hoping to go while I am pregnant to talk to women about the importance of the in-utero health of their children,” she passionately said.
“Those are the most important days for women to get a good nutritional diet so that the child can be born healthy and thrive. Going there pregnant - as a mother, as a woman - will have that much more impact.”
Halle already has five-year-old daughter, Nahla, with her ex-partner Gabriel Aubry.
Her second child will be her first with current fiancé Olivier Martinez.
