Fergie’s M.I.L.F. $ video stylist B. Akerlund has explained how she made sure the singer stood out from the pack in her latest video.

Fergie worked hard with stylist B. Akerlund on making sure she stood out in her provocative new music video.

The former Black Eyed Peas singer is back in the spotlight with catchy new track M.I.L.F. $, which features an even more memorable music video. Fergie gathered a group of A-listers for the sexy film, including Kim Kardashian, Ciara, Chrissy Teigen and Alessandra Ambrosio.

Each star wears a number of risque outfits, including lots of latex and nearly-naked looks. However Fergie is always the main focus of the video.

“Fergie and I had a very specific vision on how we saw the M.I.L.F. world and especially on how would she lead the pack,” Akerlund told The Hollywood Reporter. “Almost everything in the video was custom-made. I worked together with different latex designers including Atsuko Kudo and Venus Prototype, who made several of the costumes for the video. There was something that attracted me to mixing latex and diamonds, as well as the use of colour, to help create a world where women ruled and there was no limit to what you can do.”

Kim’s appearance has garnered a lot of attention, with many accusing the reality TV star of having her waist photoshopped to appear tiny. Kim has denied the allegations, with Akerlund backing her up, explaining the outfits were chosen to pump up other parts of her body, making her look like a real life Barbie.

In another scene the 35-year-old, who sports bleached blonde hair in the video, is seen in a shower in another latex piece. This time the nude costume makes her look almost nude, with towering of 10-inch, 18-carat gold-dipped stilettos adding even more drama.

“For the shower look, we wanted to give an illusion that Kim was naked, so I had designer Atsuko Kudo create a layered nude body suit adorned with about 40 wedding rings from Lynn Ban, which was meant to symbolise that she had been married that many times — not sure anybody got that,” Akerlund laughed.
