Hugh gets dress stress
Hugh Jackman is proud that he came to the rescue of Jennifer Lawrence when her Oscars gown gave her problems this year.
The actor famously attended to Jennifer Lawrence when she tripped as she went to collect her best actress Oscar at this year's Academy Awards. She has made light of the incident and Hugh is glad he was close enough to help her out of the embarrassing situation.
"I felt so bad for her because it happened right in front of me. I'm pretty sure anyone would have done the same thing. It was clear that her heel was caught on something inside the dress; I know there's a lot of stuff that goes on inside those dresses to make them look poofy," he smiled to UK magazine Cosmopolitan. "I saw her trying to get up, and I thought she couldn't on her own, so I just went to help her."
Hugh doesn't think too much about what he wears, preferring to leave that kind of thing to his wife Deborra-Lee Furness.
The 44-year-old does take more care when it comes to his diet and exercise regime. He has famously bulked up for several movie roles in the past, not least when he portrays superhero The Wolverine. That involved him eating "villages of chicken" and many meals a day to help create muscle mass.
Although the beefy look is popular with his female fans, it doesn't go down as well with Deborra-Lee.
"I still see myself as this skinny long-legged person. That body I have is for The Wolverine. I did work on it, but it's not my natural body, and I get a hard time for it," Hugh explained. "Deb tells me, 'Your job, as my husband, is to be fat and schlubby, so that no matter what's going on with me I look great.'"
