In Pictures: Meryl Streep wows at BAFTAs
Meryl Streep looked beautiful in black at the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs) last night.
Not only did the Hollywood star take home the best actress trophy, she also scored high in the style stakes in an elegant floor-sweeping gown with a daring neckline.
The Vivienne Westwood design featured a full skirt and corset that showed off The Iron Lady star's assets to perfection. Meryl teamed the frock with a diamond-studded bolero jacket to protect her from the February chill.
Mad Men beauty Christina Hendricks drew breaths upon her arrival in a similar curve-boosting creation. Like Meryl, the redhead had chosen a Westwood design with an equally plunging neckline. Ruched around the décolletage, she had teamed the otherwise simple design with glittering studded clutch.
My Week With Marilyn star Michelle Williams surprised everyone by stepping out in a bespoke H&M gown. The high street design featured a cream coloured bodice with a slim black skirt and a single black rose attached to the waist. The blonde beauty complimented the dress with matching black toenails and gold peep toe heels.
Octavia Spencer and Naomie Harris added a dash of colour into the monochrome mix with their boldly-hued gowns. The Help star Octavia opted for a gorgeous pink dress with an orange sheen and daring thigh-high split.
Skyfall actress Naomie wowed in an on-trend bright yellow design which featured artistic drapery and a sheer voluminous skirt.
Both added a delicate sprinkling of diamond jewellery to their ensembles in order to let the frocks do the talking.
