Jada Pinkett Smith front row for NYFW
Jada Pinkett Smith had a busy schedule at New York Fashion Week yesterday, attending shows by Narcisco Rodriquez and Vera Wang.
The actress and her 12-year-old child made the minimum of fuss as they arrived at the SIR Stage37 venue in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan. They walked in quietly and located their seats as fast as they could, with bodyguards helping them get to the front row.
Jada wore a red-brown leather dress with panel detailing and her hair in loose waves. Her fashion-conscious daughter had her hair in a high Mohican style and opted for a brocade jacket, dark pants and a neon yellow bag.
The pair happily posed for photographs together, with Jada admitting it was the first time she'd been to one of the designer's shows.
"[My husband Will's] in Rio," she added. "Sometimes he comes to fashion shows, but this is mommy and daughter time."
It was a busy day for Jada, who earlier attended the Vera Wang Fall/Winter 13 show. Showing she knows a thing or two about fashion the 41-year-old boasted a totally different look. Her hair was poker straight and her make-up more subtle for the presentation, while she opted for a pale pink dress with pleated skirt and a low scoop neck.
She took the time to gush about Vera's collections, explaining she is one of the few designers who create pieces for the petite woman. Calling her "magic", Jada said she can always count on Vera's clothing to help elongate her slim frame.
Vera's was a popular runway with the A-list, with Chrissy Teigen and John Legend also in attendance.
At Badgley Mischka, Alexa Ray Joel and Carmen Electra sat front row along with US Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman - who described the event as "jaw-dropping".
As predicted, stars including Joan Rivers and Joan Collins turned up to support Dennis Basso, whose presentation marked his 30th anniversary.
